Born and brought up in the city Rourkela, Manu Dhawan is a banker, content producer, serial startup entrepreneur and a recent out-of-the-closet writer and he’s definitely the new buzzing name in the world of readers.
The St. Pauls alumnus who has completed his Master of Business Administration from Xaviers has turned into a storyteller and it seems like everyone is in love with his new book. Manu’s first general fiction novel, ‘The Unprodigal’ published by Rupa Publication, one of the leading publisher of India.
While talking to Odisha Shines, Manu said, “I have always been involved in creative writing in school and editing school magazine & was always a part of everything related to literature. I have also penned down many articles for BBC publications and The Times of India. So, it’s more of a passion which has grown over a period of time and i always wanted to do something in this field. And this book is a result of it!”
His book ‘The Unprodigal’ is about the story of 3 generations of fathers and sons. How a failed son of the country’s richest and most powerful scion, finds himself chugging into danger on a desert train to nowhere.
His struggles, loves, victories, regrets, faith and positivity. High on testosterone! But at the same time, human emotions and engagement are real and something which all can relate to.
Just like his buzzing novel, the launching of the book was also a star-studded affair. Singer Neeti Mohan, Raghav Sachhar, filmmaker Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, Ritesh Menon were present during the book launching in Mumbai and made it super special.
Rourkela has produced many notable authors like Ramendra Kumar & Amish Tripathi and we’re sure this book will make its way to become a national bestseller.
The Unprodigal’ is available in all the key book stores across India and also on Amazon
