When it’s come to diplomatic strategy it has been said that this govt. is so far the best in it and we’ve seen examples when Narendra Modi tweeted in Russian or Japanese language when he got a chance to visit the mentioned countries.
But this is something different.
In his recent visit to United States of America, PM Modi addressed the Indian-American which caused a stir by referring to “Progress being made by India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Attock to Cuttack.”
You must be thinking that what’s the relation of our own Cuttack with Attock which is in Pakistan & why our PM has referred it in a rhyming sound. Well! Check out the below report of Economic Times why this happened?
The report said that “While the expression “Kashmir to Kanyakumari“ has been in vogue for several decades, “Attock to Cuttack“, used in the pre-Partition days, went out of circulation after Independence, when the northwestern city became a part of Pakistan. Cuttack is in Odisha, in eastern India.
Long before the British conquest-by-division, Attock was the northwestern frontier of the Maratha empire after they defeated the Durranis and hoisted the bhagwa jhanda (the Marathas’ saffron flag) atop the Attock Fort.
While it is quite common for Pakistani fantasists to speak of hoisting the green Islamic flag atop the Red Fort, one seldom hears calls for reconquest from India, despite occasional talk of an `Akhand Bharat’ from the extreme right wing. “Attock se Cuttack tak“ itself has not been heard in public discourse for many years.
While euphony may have governed the Attock reference, Prime Minister Modi did make several biting references to Pakistan’s support for terror attacks against India -without naming the country .”
So, Did you get why it’s Attock to Cuttack & Kashmir To Kanyakumari?
