ODIA Officers Will Lead The Elite Black Cat Commandos For The First Time In History, At Republic Day Parade This Year

26th January 2017 Republic Day! Every one will remember the day but what’s so special about this year’s parade? Almost every year Odisha participates in Parade and this year’s parade will be the same. Nopes! it is not. For the first time in the independent history of India and since the inception of NSG in 1984, the Black Cat Commandos/ NSG are going to make a stunning debut at New Delhi’s Rajpath during the Republic Day Parade. Replacing Para commandos this year.

And what makes us more proud that the Back Cat Commando Contingent will be led by 2 Odia Officers, Major Ashish Mohanty from Rourkela and Deputy Commandant Pitabasa Panda from Bargarh. Marching down the Rajpath in full combat gear and their sophisticated equipment, NSG contingent would be showcasing their capabilities to carry out counter-terror operations.

Major Asish Mohanty who serves the Ladakh Scouts mentioned ‘ We’re ready to paint Rajpath Black Tomorrow’. This year 100 NSG Commandos would be participating. While 72 Commandos will be part of the marching contingent, rest of the commandos will be seen in specialized vehicles. Representation of bomb detection and disposal equipment along with trained dogs unit would also be there.

Don’t miss tomorrow morning ! Because Rajpath is going to be colored tomorrow!
