In India there are many such cities which share the same name of road. Just like thousand of roads are named after Gandhi dynasty and then some others.

But years after our freedom, in a first a road at Mehul Cinema Circle, Mulund (West), Mumbai Suburban has been named after Odisha’s well known freedom fighter, journalist, writer & social reformer Utakalmani Gopabandhu Das.

Bharatiya Janata Party Odia Cell in Mumbai has initiated this in 2016 on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpayee’s 92nd birthday.

Mulund is the earliest planned neighborhood of Mumbai city. But why it’s making us more happy because while India is debating over the increasing influence of some regional places and Odisha is still trying to get a developed state recognition, this will again remind everyone the contribution of Odia’s in the freedom movement during British rule.

Next time when you go to Mumbai, don’t forget to visit this road & Don’t Forget To Share The Story!
