We’re living in a time when every communication happens through mobile and after cyclone Fani, many of us realized “Why it makes a difference in our life?” The power crisis was one of the biggest nightmares for all those people who couldn’t reach out to their parents living in Odisha and the parents who were trying to make a call to their kids. And Mi India team helped them by becoming their voice.
While numerous corporate companies like Paytm, Google Pay, Zomato and a lot increasingly extended their assistance for the affected people, Mi India team did their part very well.
Very much aware about the prompt need of those thousands of people who were living with power cut off and dying phone batteries, a team of Mi India rushed to organise thousands of fully charged Mi PowerBanks, water & vital utilities for the people.
Manu Kumar Jain, Vice President of Xiaomi and MD of Mi India took to Twitter to share his sentiments & stated, ‘People of this Nation show what it means to be Indian!’
In times of trouble, people of this Nation show what it means to be Indian! 🇮🇳— Manu Kumar Jain (@manukumarjain) May 7, 2019
Super proud of @XiaomiIndia #team in Odisha & W Bengal, who rushed to organise thousands of fully charged Mi PowerBanks, water & vital utilities for those affected by #CycloneFani.#Xiaomi 💖 #India pic.twitter.com/QGcc5ZJxoc
If you remember the Kerala flood of 2018, when thousands of powerbank, portable chargers, made by govt. engineering students were airdropped from the helicopter.
But thanks to govt. of Odisha for their quick action to restore electricity at some parts of the affected areas, while at many places the volunteers and workers are working 24/7 to reestablish power connection.
