After IIT & DU Website Hacked; Now BPUT Official Website Made It To The List But With A Twist!

Remember when IIT Madras website has been hacked with some pro-Pakistan images last year.

Well! This time BPUT official site has been hacked as per some of the media reports, but the actual issue is something different! As we all know BPUT is so unpredictable in terms of everything but never imagined that it will go to this extent! :p

On Tuesday in an unprecedented cyber attack, the official websites of three premier educational institutes in India were hacked. Those were University of Delhi (DU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D); with messages like “Kashmir will be Pakistan. What has the people in Kashmir done to India ? Why are your soldiers there even? ”

The news spread like a wild fire and suddenly few of the BPUT students noticed that even our own university site was not opening and flashing with a message with ‘IIS7’ screen with multiple global languages and everybody got scared. [Some of them were happy & excited too :p]

After this multiple media houses reported that official BPUT site has been hacked, but officials of BPUT have refuted the media reports with an amazing yet a funny reason. In an interview to media, BPUT vice-chancellor Shyam Sunder Pattnaik has denied the reports of hacking and said it is due to payment dispute with the company in charge of the website maintenance and necessary action will be taken immediately.

It’s true! Our University site is down due to payment issues and not for any cyber attack and the error on the landing page is actually due to error from the hosting end of the site.

So ENGINEERS! Don’t get panic or excited. We know what you’re thinking ‘Ama Univeristy site ku ta kehi hack v karunahanti‘ 🙁
