Here’s a good news for the people of Western Odisha Recently Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has talked about the new project under UDAN-III scheme which will connect 6 major cities of India to Jharsuguda.
Inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on 22 September 2018, Jharsuguda airport is spread over an area of 9099.22 acres. The Odisha Government has sanctioned spend over Rs 175 crore for development of it. It was later renamed as Veer Surendra Sai Airport,Jhasuguda.
When the Turbo and Alliance Air flights will connect Jharsuguda to capital city Bhubaneswar, Spicejet and Alliance will connect Kolkata to it. On the other hand, Spicejet will start flights from Jharsuguda to Hyderabad and New Delhi and Jet Airways will launch its services to connect Mumbai. Alliance Air and Turbo will also operate flights from Jharsuguda to Raipur.
Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan also informed that Bhubaneswar will be connected to Varanasi, Rourkela, Kalaikunda and Jagdalpur. Additionally, the new airport at Rourkela will be connected to Raipur and Bhubaneswar under UDAN-3, said Pradhan.
This new scheme is definitely going to bring an economical change not only for Jharsuguda and its people but for the State as well.
