Why would a Odisha minister write a letter to the Hero of the Millenium!
Until and unless someone would become the reason for this letter. Director Nilamadhav Panda’s 80-minute-long documentary in association with Akshay Parija Productions and the Department of Culture and Tourism is in the discussion now a days, as we all know the conditions of not so aggressive approach of the Odisha tourism towards the Desi & foreign tourists. But this time Odisha Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda has taken the right step by approaching BIG B Amitabh Bachhan to Odisha for a visit.
Renowned Odia Director Nila Madhav Panda’s upcoming movie ‘God’s Own People’ is going to hit the cinema halls in few days in which BIG B Amitabh Bachhan has given voice. In an interview to Odisha Television, Nila Madhav Panda said that “It is a film on Lord Jagannath and whosoever does it will feel proud about it. Moreover, through this special screening in which the CM, the Governor and other dignitaries were present, we want to spread the idea that we can do quality movies and can take it to the international level. Our aim here is to screen this film in as many forums as possible.”
After the screening of the movie in which Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, Minister Ashok Panda were present; Ashok Panda immediately wrote a letter to Amitabh Bachhan thanking him for his contribution in the movie and said that his voice is dedicated to Lord Jagannath.
‘God’s Own People ‘ is not only going to be released in Odisha but it’s going to be released worldwide in few months. Odisha people are expecting the Tourism minister to approach the Big B to become the Brand Ambassador for the Odisha Tourism. In 2010 also Amitabh visited Odisha along with his wife Jaya Bachhan and again in 2015 in which Kalinga Sena, a local political outfit have decided to protest against Amitabh over the Maggi controversy. Recently Mr. Bachhan approached the people for not littering near the Jagannath Temple and about the Penalty in an NDTV initiative.
