Some gifts are so precious that we always wanted to it to keep closer to our heart!
In a shocking incident, some unknown miscreants set ablaze Odisha born Olympian Dutee Chand’s car gifted by UP govt. and that too in front of her house.
Dutee Chand is 3rd Indian woman to ever qualify for the Woman’s 100 metres event in 2016 Olympics. Not only that she’s currently holding the position of national champion in the women’s 100 metres event.
While Dutee Chand’s father has lodged a complaint in nearest police station; it’s really a shameful and sad incident that occured. The car held importance for Dutee as this is the first ever four wheeler which has been gifted by UP’s former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in 2013.
‘She is presently in China taking part in an international track and field meet. We have decided not to let her know of the incident lest it may affect her performance”, said Chakradhar Chand, father of the sprinter.
Dutee had earned laurels to the State as well as for the nation when she qualified for the Rio Olympics by clocking 11.30 seconds to finish a 100-metre race at the XXVI International Meeting G Kosanov Memorial in Almaty, Kazakhstan last year.
