It looks like the wave of demonetization is not going to calm down anytime soon.

Just days after increasing the production of the new currency, it looks like the government has given some major directives to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Continuing on its mission to increase the cash flow of new currency notes, the RBI has now announced that it will soon be issuing new Rs.20 and Rs.50 notes.

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ₹ 20 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, with inset letter ‘L’ in both the number panels, bearing signature of Dr. Urjit R Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, and the year of printing ‘2016’ printed on the reverse of the banknote.”, the press release by RBI stated.

But that wasn’t all, the RBI also tweeted this out earlier in the day:

The new ₹50 notes will have similar design and security features as that of banknotes of ₹50. These notes will be an extension of the Mahatma Gandhi series-2005.
